Each has its own eligibility rules, its own booking codes and its own restrictions. You do not need to know any of that — we apply what fits.
Amtrak discount categories

Discount levels, eligibility criteria and blackout rules are set by the carriers and change without notice. Some discounts cannot be combined with the lowest Saver fares. Your agent confirms what applies to your specific booking.
UK Railcards

Most UK Railcards have no residency requirement and are available to visiting travelers. A Railcard typically repays its annual cost on a single long journey.
Three things people get wrong
The biggest discount is not always the cheapest ticket
A 10% discount on a mid-tier bucket can cost more than an undiscounted Saver fare. We compare the actual totals, not the percentages.
You must carry proof
Veteran, student, senior and Railcard discounts all require valid proof at the barrier or onboard. Travelling without it can mean paying the full walk-up fare.
Discounts stack with group rates rarely
Group pricing and individual discounts are usually alternatives, not additions. We price both constructions and take whichever is lower.
